VANAX SuperClean
VANAX SuperClean or VANAX 37
It is the 3rd generation powdered nitrogen steel released by Bohler-Uddeholm in 2016.
The characteristics of this stainless steel are ``corrosion resistance, wear resistance, toughness'' and ``sharpness''.
VANAX has the strength to withstand hard use in bushcraft.
Along with that, it is said that the strength of VANAX exceeds ELMAX depending on the user who uses it.
It has overwhelming corrosion resistance that is extremely resistant to rust even when immersed in the sea for a long time like conventional diver knives, and is characterized by its versatility for hard use.
Steel materials, which have been considered to be resistant to rust, have poor wear resistance, so their sharpness deteriorates significantly quickly, and despite their high toughness, the cutting edge is easy to roll.
However, VANAX has overwhelming wear resistance, which is the same as other excellent high-performance steel materials, and despite being stainless steel, its sharpness is as sharp as carbon steel.
When this dreamy ultra-high performance steel was first released, it surprised the knife industry to the point of being called "Future Steel".
VANAX manufactured by ISZ KNIVES has an HRC hardness of 60.
This is the best balance between wear resistance and toughness of VANAX, and it is also a hardness that can be sharpened by hand.
In addition, at our workshop, we request heat treatment from a contractor in Hyogo prefecture who can do very accurate work, which is one of the few in Japan.
Only for VANAX, the final process of tempering is done by our original recipe.
As a result, the corrosion resistance of VANAX has been raised to the maximum.
