Grinds
Many blade grinds of the knives produced by ISZ KNIVES are convex grinds or saber grinds.
Convex grind
The convex grind has a blade shape that is mainly used for axes, and its nature is a blade shape that specializes in splitting firewood.
Therefore, the sides are rounded, and there are fewer points of contact with the wood, reducing frictional resistance and making it easier to split.
*There are individual differences in the feeling of actual batoning, but I don't feel much of a difference from Saber.
In addition, although it depends on how the side is cut, it is the strongest grind because the mass of the steel material on the side can be secured compared to other blade shapes.
However, as a disadvantage of the bulging sides, it is a little more difficult to shave thinly like a feather stick in bushcraft, so a little practice is required.
The charm of the Convex Grind is that it is a toughness blade that is fun to use.
Saber Grind
Saber grind is the blade shape most adopted for knives. The side of the blade with a low shinogi line is called scandi grind, and the one that has been ground beyond the shinogi line to almost the spine is called flat grind.
It is very easy to use from batoning to feather sticks, and it has the advantage of being easy to sharpen because the angle is easy to understand.
As far as strength is concerned, there is no practical problem if it is a high-performance steel with toughness.
Saber Grind is the most practical blade that is very easy to handle for everyone.
Sharpening
The blades of the knives produced by ISZ KNIVES have an edge angle of approximately 31 to 33 degrees. The angle has the best balance between wear resistance and strength.
ISZ KNIVES knives will be re-sharpened free of charge, with only the cost of the return postage paid by the customer.
